Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book an appointment?

I book all of my appointments through a submission request form. The form is posted from the 1-3rd of each month for the following month. The form must be completed in order to be considered for an appointment spot. I take 1-2 weeks to respond to submission requests and respond to selected projects only. I have limited time as I am only one person so I may not be able to take on every project but I encourage all my clients to keep reapplying if they don’t make it in for that booking round.

I would like to have a consultation and get a quote before I decide on booking, is this possible?

Yes it is. I do all of my consultations online via instagram, facebook or email. This way I have all your ideas and references in one place which helps me get an idea of what you’re looking for.

Do I get to see my tattoo design before my appointment?

I typically draw up my designs for the week the weekend before your appointment and don’t normally send these out unless I need further clarification. If you wish to see your design ahead of time, I do have a $100 design fee you can purchase that allows you to see your tattoo one week prior to your appointment which includes one round of revisions. This price is an additional cost to the service I provide and is not deducted off the final price of the tattoo.

Am I allowed to make changes to my tattoo design?

Absolutely! I never want anybody to get artwork on their body if they aren’t 100% confident in the design. If you purchase the design package, you have opportunity to make major adjustments to your tattoo. However, you can still make changes on the day of your appointment to suit your needs better. I can make adjustments fairly quickly as they are typically minor revisions to the overall design which do not effect the cost of your tattoo. If you have a change of heart on the day and decide you want a totally different tattoo entirely, I will likely have to reschedule your appointment so I have adequate time to prepare based on the new specifications and your deposit will be forfeit.

How do I prepare for my tattoo appointment?

Some tips I recommend for the day of your appointment are to make sure to eat a good solid meal before your session and feel free to bring a drink/snack with you. I also recommend that you shower before your appointment. At your own discretion, you can take an ibuprofen or tylonel before your appointment, which can help with pain and swelling. If you are planning on using numbing cream, please let me know ahead of time so I can advise on proper application time before your appointment.

What methods of payment do you take?

I only accept cash or e-transfer as payment method on the day of your appointment, so please come prepared with that in mind.

What should I wear?

I have a helpful page that shows you examples of what to wear based on the area you are getting tattooed.

See here.

How do I take care of my tattoo after it’s done?

No stress here! I walk you through exactly how to take care of your tattoo at the end of your appointment as well as provide a complimentary aftercare kit which includes soap and lotion that I recommend using during your healing period. The aftercare kit also includes a printed instructional to reference should you forget my instructions.

Can I bring a friend to my appointment?

I don’t mind if you bring a friend or family member to your appointment, but I do ask that you be mindful on how many people you bring. My studio is a smaller space and can’t accommodate large groups. For that reason I recommend no more than one person come with you to your appointment.

Do you tattoo minors?

I tattoo minors over the age of 16 years old only with direct consent from a parent or legal guardian. This means they must accompany you in person to consent to the design, sizing and final placement of the tattoo, no exceptions. They must also complete a waiver form on your behalf. They are not required to stay for the entirety of the session but must be present at the beginning. I don’t typically take on large scale projects for minors as I do not believe it is a smart idea. The body is still growing and changing as a minor and this can lead to distortions in tattoo imagery as you get older.

Can I use numbing cream for my tattoo session?

The short answer is yes! However, the numbing cream comes at your own cost, both financially and at risk to the healing process. Most of the time, numbing cream can be an amazing aid for your tattooing process, especially in sensitive areas. I have seen first hand people experience pain free tattoo sessions. However, some people experience adverse reactions to numbing agents which can cause their tattoos to heal poorly and cause more pain during their session. I recommend getting a reputable product (ask me for recommendations) and doing a test patch on your skin a few days before your appointment to see if you are a good candidate for use.
